The Pentagon Has Zero Answers For Growing Crisis — What Are They Hiding?

The crisis unfolding across Afghanistan just keeps getting worse.

Especially when the full scale of the Pentagon’s utter incompetence (or incomprehensible corruption) is taken into account.

Just take into account the fact that Jennifer Griffin of Fox News questioned how exactly the United Kingdom is able to traverse Afghanistan to rescue its own citizens, yet the Biden administration apparently can’t.

“General Taylor, British paratroopers are leaving the airport, going into Kabul to rescue and evacuate some of their citizens who are trapped [and] can’t get to the airport because of the Taliban.” [Source: Fox News]

Major General Hank Taylor, who serves as Biden’s Deputy Director of the Joint Staff Regional Operations, had a less than encouraging response.

“At this time, our main mission continues to be to secure HKIA, to allow those American citizens and other SIVs to come in and be processed at the airfield.” [Source: Fox News]

So, in other words, the United States declines to follow the lead of the United Kingdom, which is clearly far more devoted to rescuing its citizens.

The “response” of Taylor is even more absurd when considering the despicably conflicting messages that American citizens are receiving from the State Department.

The State Department essentially commands Americans to go to the Kabul airport if they care to be rescued, yet this command is accompanied by a rather troubling message in all caps.

“THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT CANNOT ENSURE SAFE PASSAGE TO THE HAMID KARZAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.” [Source: Fox News]

Well, that’s reassuring.

Apparently the current United States government cannot guarantee anything aside from “America Last” and utter, complete incompetence.

Lloyd Austin, who serves as Biden’s Secretary of Defense, offered little to inspire Americans as well. In fact, he didn’t even bother to promise the safe return of all Americans.

“And quite frankly, we’re not close to where we want to be in terms of getting the numbers through. We’re going to work that 24 hours per day, seven days a week. And we’re going to get everyone that we can possibly evacuate, evacuated. And I’ll do that as long as we possibly can, until the clock runs out or we run out of capability.” [Source: Breitbart]

“Everyone that we can possibly evacuate.”

By that, Austin means the Americans lucky enough to get to Kabul airport, as they certainly won’t be rescued elsewhere.

As for “running out of capability?” That presumes capability was present in the first place, Mr. Austin …

On top of that, Americans fortunate enough to arrive to the airport apparently have to pay upwards of $2,000 for the United States to fly them home. How nice.

So, while the Biden administration flies illegals all over the nation for free, he charges individual Americans up to $2,000 per person to fly home after a withdrawal that his administration massively botched.

Needless to say, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), who has done far more for Americans trapped in Afghanistan than Biden can bother to do, seriously raked the federal government over the coals for its insanely botched withdrawal.

In addition, Cotton also openly called out the fact that Biden apparently cannot be bothered to follow the lead of major American allies. However, since Biden apparently cannot even bother to consult with allies before hurling their own citizens into danger, courtesy of America’s abrupt withdrawal, it’s sadly not that surprising.

Still no excuse, however, which is why Cotton rightfully castigated the government.

“President Biden’s ill-planned, chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan has stranded thousands of American citizens behind enemy lines, turning them in effect into hostages of the Taliban. Instead of ordering rescue missions to save our people, as our allies have done, the Biden administration is relying on the Taliban’s good graces to ensure the safety of our citizens.” [Source: Breitbart]

On top of that, in his apparent obsession to undo all the good that Trump has done, Biden even destroyed the Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau (CCR), developed by Mike Pompeo under Trump.

The CCR’s chief function?

“[The CCR provides] aviation, logistics, and medical support capabilities for the Department’s operational bureaus, thereby enhancing the secretary’s ability to protect American citizens overseas in connection with overseas evacuations in the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster.” [Source: Fox News]

However, in a June 11 memo, signed by Brian McKeon, Biden’s Deputy Secretary of State, the CCR was destroyed, a grand total of two months before the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Curious timing …

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) has also railed against the Biden administration, rightfully calling for “a full congressional inquiry.”

“This is the worst foreign policy debacle since Vietnam, due to Joe Biden. He has lost the confidence of the American people and the ability to lead. Biden’s entire defense and foreign policy team must resign, and there must be a full congressional inquiry.” [Source: Breitbart]

Given that Congress fixated on Russian bogeyman for over three years with Trump (if only to distract from Hunter), it will be interesting to see whether or not they even deign to question Biden at all.

Or, on the other hand, if they all turn against Biden … to sweep Ms. Kamala into power.
