Former President Trump put out a comment Thursday slamming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about her alleged worries about him using nuclear weapons during his final days in Washington, calling her “a nut job.”
“Pelosi is a known nut job. Her crazy quotes that she was scared I would use nuclear weapons is only more of the same,” Trump said in the comment, released by his Save America PAC.
The former president also said he helped America get away from wars when he was president.

“I was the one who got America out of wars” Trump said.
Trump also said, “And I got respect for our nation again, not like what you see now when the leaders of the whole World are laughing. They did not laugh when I was in the White House!”
The comment seems to be in response to a new book by Washington Post reporters Philip Rucker and Carol Leonnig called “I Alone Can Fix It.”
The authors said Pelosi phoned General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, after the January 6 to show “her worries about Trump’s actions,” as The Washington Post reported.
“After Jan. 6, Pelosi asked Milley for his guarantee that then President Trump would not be able to perform a nuclear strike,” the book says.
Pelosi announced the formation of a committee to look into the Jan. 6 event.
“It is crucial that we find the truth from Jan. 6th, and guarantee an assault of that kind cannot happen and that we find all the causes for it. The committee will look into and report on the details and facts and the reasons for the attack and it will give guidelines for the stopping of any future attack,” she said.
Republican Senate Minority Whip John Thune, from South Dakota, said that he and others were worried that even with promises of bipartisanship, the commission could be “a political tool and weapon used by Democrats,” according to The NY Times.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has also reported that the other investigations going on right now should complete before Dems start another one.
