Trump Blasts Biden’s $60B Arms Bonanza

Recently, former President Donald Trump laced into President Joe Biden’s current performance in international affairs, especially given the growing crisis surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Trump asserted that the war would have never occurred under his presidency, and that American taxpayers would never be footing the bill for sending $60B in weapons that have been largely unaccounted for to Ukraine.

Even worse, a significant percentage of the weapons have been destroyed by Russian forces, with the former president noting that Russia can oftentimes “obliterate” the arms support Ukraine receives.

“Ukraine would have never happened under the Trump administration,” Trump announced during an appearance in Tampa, Florida.

“Russia would have never done what they did – and they didn’t,” he continued in his remarks to a crowd filled with young conservatives.

During the Turning Public Action Summit, Trump also emphasized the pressure he put upon NATO member states to amplify their own defense spending, insisting that they pay their fair share.

The pressure from the Trump administration led to the additional expenditure of $430B, the former president reminded the crowd.

“We were being taken advantage of by Europe,” Trump recalled, before proceeding to detail the ways in which the United States is, once again, spending much higher sums of money on defense relative to the European Union.

“If you look at Ukraine now, we have so far given $60 billion to Ukraine,” Trump remarked, “Well, the European countries, who are obviously more affected than us, have given a tiny fraction of that number.”

Russia seriously amplified its aggression in Ukraine when it annexed the Crimea in 2014, during the Obama administration.

It has since continued its aggression shortly after Biden assumed power.

Trump also turned his attention to China, Iran, and other threats, in particular China.

“China would never have thought about taking over Taiwan under the Trump administration … because they knew the consequences,” Trump concluded.
