Top Democrat On His Way To The Slammer — Arrest Warrant Signed

Democrats that fled Texas and abdicated their responsibilities may have made a big show of supposed woke-ism, but it looks like at least one of them is reaping the consequences.

Specifically, the GOP Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Dade Phelan issued a civil arrest warrant for Rep. Philip Cortez, who returned to Texas only to flee again to the leftist, swamp-laden haven of D.C.

Cortez’s move wasn’t the brightest move in the world, considering that Governor Abbott has already threatened to arrest warring Democrats. Then again, since Democrats demonize basic law and order, it comes as no surprise that they think they are way above such concerns.

If criminals are above the law in Democrats’ view, then they certainly are.

However, a legal warrant issued by Phelan suggests otherwise.

“To the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives of the State of Texas, or any officer appointed by him: you are hereby commanded to take The Honorable Philip Cortez, a Member of the House of Representatives of the State of Texas, who is now absent from the House, wherever said Member may be found in the State, into your custody and safekeeping …

And bring said Member before the bar of the House instanter, this writ being issued under a duly-adopted order of the House pursuant to Article III, Section 10, Texas Constitution, made in exercise of its lawful powers to compel the attendance of absent members in the manner provided under the House Rules of Procedure. Herein fail not, but make due return hereof to this House.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

Looks like the Democrats have taken a few too many cues from the snowflakes they’ve long since brainwashed, otherwise known as braindead college students who are more concerned with “protesting” than learning, much less actually contributing anything worthwhile.

Moreover, Phelan further underscored the extent of legislative betrayal promulgated by Cortez in the event of his abrupt, deliberately disruptive departure, which “irrevocably” broke trust.

“Rep. Cortez returned to the Texas Capitol of his own volition and represented to me and his fellow members that he wanted to work on policy and find solutions to bring his colleagues back to Texas …

As a condition of being granted permission to temporarily leave the House floor, Rep. Cortez promised his House colleagues that he would return. Instead, he fled the state and has irrevocably broken my trust and the trust of this chamber.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

Well, fleeing the state would fall right in line with generally spineless Democrats, especially since they apparently refuse to face up to the cancerous influence they’ve inflicted upon the entire nation.

Tucker Carlson, however, is not afraid to say exactly what the irresponsible Democrats really did, and what they really are.

Not to mention call out their private jet behavior, which does not exactly align with the tenets of the “Green New Deal.” Just like masking mandates and travel mandates, Democrats live a perpetual existence of “Do as I say, not as a I do.”

Fortunately, conservatives like Carlson do both, as evidenced by his scathing commentary below.

“51 Democrats in the Texas legislature left their state and flew to Washington, D.C. on private jets. They did this in order to deny the Texas legislature a quorum, and then they shut it down. They shut down the democratic process in their state. By leaving the state, they violated their sworn duty to represent voters and committed what amounted to an act of, yes, insurrection.” [Source: Fox News]

Unfortunately, Democrats have long since abandoned their duty to truly represent voters, especially since duty and accountability are comparable to curse words in the Democrat dictionary.

Moreover, they ironically achieved nothing besides contracting COVID and passing it along to others, including a Pelosi aide, yet they will undoubtedly be the first ones cheering on new mask mandates from the CDC.

2022 (not to mention 2024) cannot come soon enough …
