NASA Enrages Leftist Activists, See Why …

At last, an organization has stood up to the woke mob.

A federal agency, no less.

While various celebrities, corporations, and generally empty-headed politicians can spout off endlessly about cancel culture, it appears that one agency is really in no hurry to hear about the ways in which it isn’t “woke” enough.

And that agency is NASA.

NASA has come under fire from leftist activists, this time of the LGBTQ variety.

Apparently emboldened by their ability to topple statues and relocate MLB games, leftist activists decided to target NASA next.

The reason? Apparently they hate the name of the NASA telescope, which is poised to launch on a deep space mention later in the year.

Apparently, leftie activists don’t like the fact that a telescope was named after someone who was apparently “complicit” with the persecution of homosexuals.

And they put together a petition that they apparently perceived as compelling as a result.

“The historical record is already clear: under Webb’s leadership, queer people were persecuted. Those who would excuse Webb’s failure of leadership cannot simultaneously award him credit for his management of Apollo. Leaders are responsible not only for the actions of those they lead, but the climate they create within their spheres of influence. As we have noted previously, Webb’s legacy of leadership is complicated at best, and at worst, complicit with persecution.” [Source: Breitbart]

Notice what’s missing in the above? Absolutely zero facts of any kind.

Leftists proclaim that the history is “clear,” yet if it’s so clear, why not offer up a single incident that indisputably verifies their character assassination?

Alas, they decided to launch straight towards their demands rather than provide some actual facts.

“The time has come to choose a future that is inspiring to all of us. We demand that NASA immediately rename JWST, and bestow this honor on someone whose legacy befits a telescope whose data will be used in discoveries that will inspire future generations of astronomers, discoveries that we the undersigned will make.” [Source: Breitbart]

Awfully high demand for presenting zero evidence, though since they’ve gotten away with it with corporations, not to mention the president himself, it’s really no surprise.

Too bad for them that an agency such as NASA puts up a bit more of a formidable fight than spineless corporations.

Karen Fox, who serves as a senior science communications officer at NASA, made it very clear to the leftists that the historical record regarding Webb is in fact not “clear” at all.

“We’ve done as much as we can do at this point and have exhausted our research efforts … Those efforts have not uncovered evidence warranting a name change.” [Source: Breitbart]

Amen, NASA! At last, an agency refuses to succumb the leftist mob.

Fox’s response is even more brilliant when contrasting it with the response of Robert Manfred, MLB Commissioner, to Georgia’s new election laws, another piece of legislation unjustifiably smeared by leftists.

“Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views … I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

So, in other words, while NASA does actual fact-checking, the MLB succumbs to the “views” of the leftist mob. Including the “views” of the supposed president, who also doesn’t bother to fact check.

“Look at what’s happened with the NBA, as well. Look what’s happened across the board. The very people who are victimized the most are the people who are the leaders in these various sports, and it’s just not right.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

Again, no facts relayed by Biden whatsoever, although at least Georgia Governor Brian Kemp called them out for their total nonsense.

“It’s unfortunate that Major League Baseball has caved to the cancel culture, and quite honestly, President Biden and Stacey Abrams and a lot of other people are simply lying about this bill to pressure these organizations …

This is just a cancel culture, and I’ll tell you, the people at home should be scared because their ballgame is next, their business will be next, their way of life will be next. It is time to stand up and fight this and say, ‘look, we’re not going to take this anymore.’ It’s ridiculous.” [Source: The Daily Wire]

Fortunately, the MLB is sending no one into space, though it may hopefully send itself into digital oblivion with all its absurd activism.

In the meantime, NASA announced that James Webb Telescope will be sent into orbit on December 18, 2021 in order “to serve as the premiere observatory for the next decade.”

Take that, woefully under-educated snowflakes … And try not to challenge literal rocket scientists in the future. It doesn’t appear to end well.
