In case Americans are wondering where the “young people” went wrong, look no further than Marxist indoctrination centers, otherwise known as “universities.”
Apparently, in spite of the massive spike in crime, including violent homicides, Davidson College thinks it would be a good idea to launch a new course for already ultra-indoctrinated students: #Abolishthepolice: Race and Policing in the U.S.
Yes, that is literally the name of the class. And, in the spirit of CRT and Project 1619, the course description is yet another senseless assault on law enforcement disguised as a “philosophy” course.
“This critical Black studies course explores the specific relationship between Blackness and policing in the U.S. from a philosophical perspective. We will enlist Black political and feminist theories and social and political philosophies to critically examine and think through issues of race, criminalization, incarceration, police militarization, predictive policing, surveillance, and domestic security.” [Source: Davidson College]
Just imagine how many American taxpayer dollars are going to fund that.
Sounds like that course will achieve nothing but breeding a new generation of violently anti-police youth who want the government to take care of them for life (while they continue to protest the government, of course, on the government’s dime … or, more accurately, the taxpayers’ dime).
On top of that, the course has the nerve to cite “experts” that clearly state incorrect facts.
“As numerous experts have shown, the U.S. has the highest rate of police violence and misconduct in the world in addition to the highest rate of incarceration. Scholars have shown that Black, brown, and indigenous people are disproportionate police targets …
And because police violence and gendered violence are intrinsically connected, Black trans and gender nonconforming people, and Black people with disabilities and mental health issues, routinely experience surveillance, arrest, incarceration, and sexual assault at the hands of law enforcement at significantly higher rates than any other racial demographic. While current mainstream conversations ask how can we reform the police to lessen harm against marginalized communities, I suggest we begin elsewhere.” [Source: Davidson College]
The ”highest rate of police violence” in the world? Seriously?
Exactly where are such statistics to be found? Kind of hard to believe the United States has higher police violence than a host of regimes across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East …
Worst of all, Jay Pfeifer, who serves as Davidson College’s Director of Media Relations, has claimed that Davidson College is grounded in “Christian” tradition, though such a course offering seems to run a bit counter to conservative culture.
“[Davidson College is] a student-focused institution of higher learning, grounded in the Christian Reformed Tradition and therefore faithful to a God bound by no church or creed … We explore all reality through unlimited employment of our intellectual powers.” [Source: Fox News]
“Unlimited employment,” huh? Something suggests such courses will bring about “limited employment,” unless, of course, the students become full-time rioters (err, “protestors”).
Meanwhile, back in the real world, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has pointed out the realities of “Defund Police,” never mind “Abolish Police.”
“Make no mistake: The reason that you have such huge spikes in crime in many parts of the country is because of not standing up for law enforcement, having weak policies where you’re letting people out, and you’re not prosecuting people who are committing habitual offenses … That is clearly causing disastrous consequences.” [Source: The Blaze]
Absolutely. Add “horrible university classes” to “weak policies” as well.
Fortunately, DeSantis does respect police, and he has openly welcomed belauguered law enforcement officers to come to a state that will actually respect them.
“If you have a chance to do law enforcement in Florida versus some of these other jurisdictions, you’re much better off in Florida because we’ll actually stand by law enforcement.” [Source: The Blaze]
