FDA Takes Aim At Governor DeSantis

One would think that the Biden administration should be preoccupied with issues a tad larger than what conservative governors are doing to protect their populations.

Alas, the administration just can’t resist taking constant potshots at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, if only because DeSantis is vastly more capable of governing Florida, not to mention the nation, than the current administration would ever be.

Which is likely why the current administration has effectively weaponized the FDA against effective COVID treatments in Florida, notably by terminating the monoclonal antibody centers that proved to be so valuable in reducing the state’s COVID rates.

Needless to say, DeSantis was not pleased.

“Without a shred of clinical data to support its decision, the Biden Administration has revoked the emergency use authorization for lifesaving monoclonal antibody treatments,” DeSantis declared shortly after the ruling.

The Florida governor also observed the suspiciously partisan nature of the order, especially since numerous residents in Florida have benefitted from the treatment centers.

“Floridians have benefited from the state’s treatment sites and their access to treatment shouldn’t be denied based on the whims of a floundering president,” DeSantis asserted.

However, it appears that the FDA is all for denying treatments if it will help Biden achieve the “vaccination rate” he so desperately seeks.

Which is rather evident in the FDA’s reply.

“Treatments are not a substitute for vaccination in individuals for whom COVID-19 vaccination and a booster dose are recommended,” the agency sniffed.

In other words, Florida isn’t getting antibody treatments because DeSantis isn’t vocally in favor of vaccine mandates. In fact, while he is in favor of vaccines, he is not at all in favor of mandates.

Thus, it is no surprise that the Biden administration has devised a new way to hurt DeSantis, an action that has not gone unnoticed by Senator Marco Rubio, who has long been critical of the Biden administration.

“Antibody treatments aren’t a substitute for vaccines,” Rubio noted, “but they have prevented thousands of hospitalizations including in breakthrough cases.”

Clearly, the Biden administration is more concerned with hospitalizations in blue states, as it is unlikely that Emperor Newsom in California would have his antibody treatment centers shut down.

Then again, Newsom would rather just shut down everyone, including Elon Musk, who wisely spit for Texas during the pandemic.

“Now in a move that reeks of partisan payback against states like Florida, the Biden administration is rationing these treatments,” Rubio continued.

What’s even more absurd is that CEOs have now admitted a reduced efficacy from the vaccine, including Ugur Sahin, who is the CEO of BioNTech, as well as the co-developer of the Pfizer vaccine.

“We must be aware that even triple-vaccinated are likely to transmit the disease,” Sahin warned, “it is obvious we are far from 95% effectiveness that we obtained against the initial virus.”

It is also “obvious” that the United States is not protected against an authoritarian government either, especially when one bureaucrat is directly linked to the crisis in the first place.

Senator Rand Paul continues to press for answers from Fauci to no avail, in large part due to the feckless Biden administration.

“The American people deserve to know how this pandemic started, to know if the NIH funded dangerous gain-of-function research that may have caused this pandemic, and to remove from office anyone, such as Dr. Fauci, who let this happen,” Paul declared in a recent statement.

Between Fauci and the current block on Florida’s antibody centers, perhaps Representative Jim Jordan summed up the situation as concisely and accurately as possible:

“Unconscionable.”

It it ever …
