Democrats Aim To Crush This COVID Investigation

Earlier this week, Democrats in the House of Representatives voted against considering a bill that would have required the Director of National Intelligence to declassify all information pertaining to the real origins of the Wuhan COVID pandemic, namely information regarding the specific role that the Wuhan Institute of Virology could have played in the massive outbreak of the pandemic.

The resolution failed after a vote of 216 to 207.

This bill was originally proposed in the U.S. Senate by Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) and Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), where it was passed unanimously in May.

After the unanimous passing, Representative Michael Burgess (R-TX), alongside Rep. Darin LaHood (R-IL) and Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), presented the COVID-19 Origin Act in the House of Representatives for consideration. Despite explaining the importance of the bill, Democrats promptly voted against the measure on Tuesday night.

According to Wenstrup, the most superior disinfectant to COVID is natural sunlight, which is what could have been provided through the bill. Per Wenstrup, the proposed legislation “establishes that we must identify the precise origins of COVID-19 because it is critical for preventing a similar pandemic in the future.”

He also added that he cannot ever stress enough that the bill is not remotely partisan or controversial, adding that it had passed with “unanimous consent” within the Senate in May. Noting that not a single senator had objected, Wenstrup observed that the bill received support from Ted Cruz, Elizabeth Warren, and Rand Paul.

“If those four members can get on board with this bill, should not we be able to do the same?” Wenstrup questioned.

In addition, LaHood further detailed the significance of the legislation, observing that it would require the current administration’s Director of National Intelligence to subsequently detail all information pertaining to the origins of COVID and the Wuhan Institute of Virology “in order to better prepare and avoid future pandemics.”

LaHood also added that “Americans deserve a full accounting of the origins of the [coronavirus pandemic].”

Hawley initially introduced the Senate’s version of the COVID-19 Origin Act in April, adding that any individuals who have questioned the role that the Wuhan Institute of Virology may have played in the onset of the pandemic was labeled as a “conspiracy theorist.”

Hawley also added that the world deserves to know whether or not the COVID pandemic was truly “the product of negligence” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, though the Chinese Communist Party has taken every measure in the book “to block a credible investigation.”

For this reason, it is critical for the Biden administration to “declassify what it knows about the Wuhan lab,” as well as Beijing’s repeated efforts to obscure the real “origin of the pandemic,” Hawley concluded.
