If anyone were to listen to Biden blabbering away recently, one would probably think Afghanistan is ancient history and that the entire world should instead be furious at the state of Texas for its recent legislation regarding abortion.
Plus, when Biden isn’t busy ranting and raving over the supposed unconstitutionality of Texas, he is also pushed brazen multi-trillion dollar spending packages guaranteed to do nothing but further line the Democrats’ exploding coffers with yet another round of federal pork, courtesy of the taxpayer.
Speaking of taxpayers, it appears that the tax base in the United States has declined precipitously courtesy of Democrat policies, as two-thirds of Americans paid no federal tax whatsoever in 2020.
Curious time to be pushing multi-trillion dollar spending packages with that fact in mind, but what’s even more curious is the fact that the Biden administration has apparently decided to forget about the hundreds of Americans that it left overseas.
It appears Biden is more intent on keeping his word to the Taliban than he was to Americans he promised to evacuate, but these Americans certainly have not been forgotten by a number of other representatives.
For instance, Representative Mike McCaul (R-TX) openly called out Biden for the “blood on his hands.”
“I’ve said all along this president has blood on his hands, and this week, this last week, we had 13 servicemen and women come home, flag draped coffins at Dover Air Base … This problem is going to get worse, not better, and we have left them behind. That’s the basic creed of the military.” [Source: Fox News]
Not that Biden or anyone in his administration would know anything about the “the basic creed of the military,” including the general inadvisability of repeatedly checking one’s watch during a memorial ceremony.
On top of that, other Americans are left behind in Afghanistan in spite of the fictional news media’s best efforts to ignore them, not to mention the Biden administration’s most pitiful efforts to have “leverage” over the Taliban.
“Now we are left to this very desperate situation, a very bad foreign policy of having to negotiate with the Taliban, which I was always skeptical of having to do and yeah we do have frozen assets … That’s the only leverage we have left, because we have no military on the ground and we have no intelligence capability on the ground.” [Source: Fox News]
Unfortunately, “frozen assets” are no guarantee of the safe returns of Americans, especially judging from the commentary of an American directly on the ground in Afghanistan.
Nasria, whose last name is withheld for security reasons, is an American mother-to-be currently trapped in Afghanistan, and she warns about the terrorist organization “hunting Americans.”
“I think to myself, ‘Am I going to make it home? Am I going to end up living here? Am I going to end up dying here? What’s going to happen? … Apparently they’re [the Taliban] going door-to-door … trying to see if anybody has a blue passport.” [Source: Fox News]
One can only imagine the terror that Nasria fears, and one can only hope that she will make her way back home safely, especially with Biden essentially turning his back on Afghanistan and everyone left in it.
On top of that, not only has Biden abandoned Americans, but he has also apparently imported Afghans with child brides, a move that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) excoriated on Twitter.
“Horrifying. Joe Biden has imported a human rights catastrophe into America. How is this not literally child trafficking, conducted by the United States government?” [Source: OANN]
Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), a military veteran who has been openly critical of the Afghanistan since its disastrous inception, also neatly summed up Biden’s “legacy” in th region.
“Joe Biden left behind Americans. He left behind vetted Afghan allies who risked their lives for our soldiers … A disgraceful lack of leadership from an incompetent president.” [Source: OANN]
What is also “disgraceful” is the fact that Ron Klain, the White House Chief of Staff, also acts as though he doesn’t have a clue about Americans left behind.
When he was directly asked whether or not the Taliban was threatening Americans, Klain continued to hedge and barely reply.
“There are all kinds of reports coming in … We’re in close communication with our sources and our contacts in Afghanistan to try to get those SIVs out safely. I know that some are coming out by land. We’re going to continue to work on efforts to get them out by air as well. We are going to continue to work to get those SIVs out of the country.” [Source: Fox News]
“All kinds of reports,” huh? Of course, Klain didn’t bother to elaborate much further.
However, McCaul has, including the dire possibility of a hostage situation.
“This is really turning into a hostage situation where they are not going to allow American citizens to leave until they get full recognition from the United States of America.” [Source: Newsmax]
One can only imagine what Biden (won’t) do then …
