Abbott’s Buses Drive Dems Bonkers

When Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that he would begin sending busloads of immigrants to the nation’s capital, then-Press Secretary Jen Psaki dismissed the plan as a “publicity stunt.”

Abbott devised the plan chiefly to draw attention to President Joe Biden’s absurd lack of a strategy regarding border security, given his intent focus on undoing all that Trump had done during his administration.

The plan has cost multiple millions of dollars, including $6.8M in Texas to date, but Governor Abbott is pleased with the results to date.

Three months, over 150 buses, and nearly 6,000 migrants later, Abbott’s plan has succeeded in delivering record numbers of migrants to Washington, D.C., where Biden can see firsthand the strain that insufficient national security places upon vulnerable Americans living in border communities.

The number of migrants has grown sufficient enough that Abbott likely will not be ignored in the same way that he has been ignored for much of Biden’s tenure.

“Governor Abbott launched Texas’ border bus mission back in April to bring President Biden’s border crisis to his backyard in Washington, D.C.,” Renae Eze, a spokeswoman for Abbott, remarked.

The spokeswoman added that the mission is also designed “to help Texas border communities that are being overrun as the federal government dumps migrants in their towns.”

Interestingly, several Democrats are urging for the liberal mayor of D.C. to do something about the rising migrant population in the nation’s capital, claiming that they do not have the resources to sustain it.

“Now, D.C. is experiencing just a fraction of the humanitarian crisis overwhelming our border communities and our state every single day,” Eze noted with satisfaction, underscoring the chief way in which Abbott’s plan has succeeded.

“With our nation’s capital finally feeling the pressure of President Biden’s reckless open border policies, it’s time he does his job and secures the border,” Eze added.

Texas has run the bus program through the context of a natural disaster evacuation. Migrants voluntarily choose to go and take the bus, free of charge, to the nation’s capital.
